Keynote: Zaheed Gaffoor

Bio: Zaheed Gaffoor is a research scientist at IBM Research Africa, where he focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in the earth science domain, particularly in extreme climate and weather research. He completed his Ph.D. in Earth Science at the University of the Western Cape. His work involves developing AI models to better understand and predict climate patterns, aiming to mitigate the impacts of extreme weather events. Zaheed’s contributions are pivotal in advancing climate resilience and sustainability efforts through innovative AI-driven solutions.
